Hi Jack, first off, it was great working with you. Thank you for sharing your talents with us, your warm, open personality, all combined to help make our event a good one! The group photos are fun! It was good to take the time and make the effort to get up at that angle - well done. Look forward to checking out [the rest of] your take when it’s ready. Much appreciated!
Robert, ITP International, Oct 2019
Wow! What a photo! Amazing capture – thank you so much, Jack, for shooting for us on Saturday night. I can’t wait to see the rest of what you shot!
Carey, September 2019

...[this] is the complete essence of my experience with Willy. We meld into each other as one and you captured it. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this.
Your biggest fan, Maria, September 2018
Jack - you are amazing in how you bring out the authenticity of someone's essential nature in a photo shoot session. And I had not anticipated how fun it could be to get a good 'business portrait.' The [Facebook viewer] comments are flattering but they really attest to your professionalism and quality of your work.
Greg Garner, November 2017

Jack is the best! We've worked with him a few times since he photographed our wedding, did another shoot when my daughter was two, and the most recent when my daughter was 5. We've been lucky to work with him. For one, it's a lovely experience since he recommends the most stunning outdoor locations and helps us relax and and enjoy the time together. He is intuitive, kind, thoughtful, fun, perceptive and all those good things you'd want in a photographer and friend too. - Kerry Lee, November 2014
It’s awesome! Wonderful call on changing the location and doing a big group photo. Everyone felt included and had a ball. Nice work, Jack!
Shelly Lewis, Public Affairs Manager, Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District Los Altos, CA April 2014

Hi Jack… everyone was really happy with the way the shoot went and that you made them feel comfortable. Looking forward to seeing the final edit.

Yay! Thank you! We love them! Jack, these pictures look great! Thank you so much for being a major part of this [engagement & wedding photography].
Cheers, Andrew & Cady, Oct 2013

Hi Jack, I dropped my mom off at the airport last night so I finally have a spare moment to email you with my warm, heartfelt thanks, not only for the fun photo shoot, but the experience it gave my mom and me driving north to see you in Marin County and being in your excellent company during the shoot. Please send my thanks, too, to Amy for her help both with the shoot and the clothing advice. As you can see on Facebook, lots of great comments. I'm really happy with this photo!!
love, Tamara, May 2013

Jack, these are awesome!
Dana, December 2013

Just to drop you a line to say how delighted we are with our new artwork [San Geronimo Valley PANORAMA - JG]. Thanks again so much.

Jack, [we're] assuming the fabulous photo collage [of Davey's Bar Mitzvah] is from you. If so, thank you so much! Very sweet of you to do. Davey loves it!
Best, Lisa and Aaron, NYC, October 2013

Thank you Jack! It was actually a lovely experience! Have you heard of the book, "This Is Who I Am?" - It is a collection of photographs and stories of women reclaiming their bodies... I pulled it out again today and it is such a good book! I felt like I had my own experience of that in the (maternity) photography session with you. Thank you for holding such a safe space for me and Jonathan.

My pretty girls. If anyone needs family photos, Jack is the man!

Good morning Jack, thank you again for spending your Sunday with us and for your kind, tolerant, loving self, able to take your clients' physical challenges and still get great pictures. You have perfected the ability to put people at ease and I am sure that is one part of your amazing talent for getting such magnificent pictures.
Regards, Linda, 2009
Jack, you have created a big problem for me here. These pictures are so good that I now have a monumental task to sort through them. I did a quick look-through on Sunday night and didn't get very far. I was just stunned. Normally if I take 20 pictures with my phone, I can delete 10 of them because they're blurry, can find 3 or 4 that actually look OK, and if I'm lucky there's one that's really good. The ratios are completely reversed here. I looked at the first 20 or so (out of over 300) and found maybe one or two that were not gorgeous. Just the size of the images is impressive, but even more impressive is that at that resolution, where I'd expect you could see any imperfections, everything looks so good - the clarity and focus and light and composition ... well it just takes my breath away. That sequence we did in the tree trunk where he gets progressively closer to the camera is priceless. I was immediately overwhelmed and had to shut down to get other things done. I'm going to try and get Lucinda to sit down with me and go through them this weekend.
Thanks again, Jack H., September 2011
Thank you, Jack! The photos were terrific and will really help in documenting a product that will tell a story about the projects planning and design.
David Bryant, Flad & Associates, architects, Dec. 2012

Jack, thank you for your wonderful work. I am sure that these will go over well at home and Mandy & the boys will just love them. You do have a gift.
Michael Jensen, 2012
Jack, received the photos today and we happen to be up in the mts. with the newlyweds. Thank you--they are fantastic! Another thing I wanted to mention is that my son remarked that he has a new-found respect for pro photographers. He said taking pics inside and trying to get the lighting right was very difficult. It has become a hobby for him and I think he learned a lot by just watching you.
Alyson (mother of the bride), Oct. 2011
Jack, Hello! These are great shots!...Thank you so much for your patience with us through this process! Your images are going to be a great asset to this issue!!

Wow, Jack! What wonderful photos! All great memories! Many of the photos are beautiful, endearing, or hilarious, depending on whether one is in them or not! Thank you so very much for taking them and for sending them! I just love them and will look at them a few million times probably.
Love, Jean
Jack! Those are fantastic! You’re SO GOOD at what you do! We love them! Thank you. We’re going to look them over a few times & make our selection.
Thrilled, Claudia S.
Great photos, Jack. I love the way you capture different emotional spaces and have your subjects so engaged. It is very cool to look at especially the large group picture and see almost every face smiling and full of energy. And the pictures of us are wonderful, great back drop, contrast, etc. You really captured a great range of feelings. Outstanding job!! Thanks so much.

Possibly the best photo anyone's ever taken of me... Alon S.
First off I really wanted to thank you for making the pregnant-picture-posing a pleasant experience. You were kind and thoughtful and really listened to Larry and I and I can't tell you how much that means to me. I really like the ones that you picked. L and I will probably be going through all of them soon to choose - there are so many good ones so it will be hard.
love, Shelley
Jack, this shot is amazing. You have such a gift. We are so pleased with what you have shown us so far. Thanks for everything.
Best, Chris
Hi Jack. Daniel and I got your precious photos. Thank you so much. I cried when I saw them. What an amazing thing. There are so many to choose from. We will pick a few and send them to you to edit.
xxx Lilian
Jack, we received the CD this last weekend and finally got to look at them yesterday. It was so magical and wonderful. (Baby) Nathaniel wasn't that interested - but Lilian and I were tearing up.
Thank you so much, Daniel

There is a wonderful old song, "Some Days Are Diamonds, Some Days Are Stone" and I've had my share of stony days in my life but the diamonds are always when my family and I reach out to Jack Gescheidt for photographs; from a family wedding to professional head shots, to funny yet sweet last photographs of my favorite old dog before he died. Not only is Jack a consummate professional, he is a wizard with a camera, he is intuitive, patient and kind in how he relates to the folks being photographed and has an innate understanding of the importance of those photographs. His pictures are not standard poses and he is never in a hurry. He carefully draws out the personality of the subject and takes his time to be sure the lighting and background is appropriate and adds to the photo. Jack is and will be the only professional photographer for me.

Dear Jack …thank you for your kind attention on Saturday. Your genuine appreciation of Ani and all the ways you supported her personally and photographically made it a truly memorable day for us both. Ani’s still talking about it and continues to edit and experiment with photos from that day and since. It took us 90 min. to make the 45 min. drive home from Point Reyes Station because we were both “seeing” in a much more meaningful way. Had to stop and take pictures every few miles! I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to meet and spend time with you and to witness your commitment to walking your talk in the world. Until next time… - Annelisa (& Ani), April, 2022

Hey Jack, just want to let you know that Clay and I feel extremely enlightened with what we learned today. Before, I was very impressed with your poise as a photographer but today was blown away with your integrity and ability as a teacher. We had no idea we would get so much out of the class. Thanks for a great learning experience.
Scott, May 2019
Dear Jack, it's hard to know where to begin - there is so much to thank you for! I really appreciated having the day to spend together at your workshop - you taught me so much more than I've ever known about my camera. I especially enjoyed learning about the manual settings on my camera, and how you answered all of our questions - I learned so much about seeing and light and how to ask myself questions while I'm working so that I can create a better photo. I especially appreciated your kindness in teaching me how to deal with my inner critic, which allowed me to relax and really enjoy the day and have fun! More than that though, you taught me about the art of looking - new ways to compose pictures to make them more dynamic and interesting. Thanks again so much, and I look forward to the next one!
Love, Beth
Hey Jack, thanks for an awesome class! I still feel incredibly empowered with my camera! Woot! I am interested in more DSLR practice, preferably field practice. Keep me in the loop, I definitely want to do it again. I looked back at my photos for the day and saw that my images are looking quite a bit different because of the control I was exhibiting and I also feel like I have a lot to learn. Thanks for being a resource!

Hi Jack, I have taken classroom style classes and never had my interest peaked enough to want to get out and use my camera. Your teaching style is so informative and fun...you make it seem easy. The fact that I could barely operate my camera and was taking time delay shots of the GG Bridge with a tripod at the end of our day together was so exciting for me. You really taught me how to see what I'm looking at which is huge. Please keep me on your email list for future classes and let's do a dog one! Thank you for a wonderful experience ... it was a gift.
Best, Sandy
I had such a wonderful time yesterday and I learned so much. You are such a unique professional; first, you obviously love and are great at what you do and secondly, you have no fear or are not threatened by sharing information. In fact, your joy brings us right into your world. The class was phenomenal! The classmates were fun and engaging and best of all nothing was threatening.
Sometimes adults forget that little kids often embrace new experiences, “just because," and adults slip into the world of worrying what someone else might think. Not yesterday. We were all wide eyed kids learning so much and having so much fun. I was reminded of a quote by George Bernard Shaw (I think), “We do not forget to play because we grow old, we grow old because we forget to play." Thank you for letting me play yesterday and push back the clock.

Thanks for a very enjoyable class today, Jack. It was a pleasure to see light bulbs go on in each person's head one or more times throughout the day. I am confident that all of us benefited from both the technical discussion and the hands-on work in among the trees. (I sure did.) ...you can ad lib with the best of them, drawing on your almost life-long closeness to photography and your fine lens-side manner, fired in the crucible of putting large groups of people at ease in the altogether. I really appreciated your demo of those reflectors. (I have a new set that I am now eager to use.) I learned a lot, and found new impetus for my own current passions (tree bark and macro photos of flowers and insects).
Joe Meyers
Thanks again Jack for spending so much time with us. It was an incredibly fun way to spend the day, and I left feeling inspired and re-energized to pick up my camera. Now if only my camera had a battery...

Hi Jack, you are a great teacher! I had the best time in your class and really want to take another one... I've been playing around with both (aperture and shutter speeds) to see how the light and clarity change when I adjust one or the other or both. Please let me know when your next class will be. In the meantime, I'll practice with my camera...
Chris Babalis
Thank you again for the class. It was an exceptional day of beauty, learning, and quiet fun.
Jenny Girsang

Jack, I had a wonderful time yesterday! I think you are doing a great job at teaching. I have attached a few of my favorite pictures from that day. It is amazing how much we learned in one afternoon. I look forward to taking another class with you again soon.
Hugs, Tiffany O
Dear Jack, thank you so much for a wonderful "Gone to the Dogs" photo workshop at Golden Gate Park. We were blessed with a beautiful day & very cooperative pups! Thanks so much for the fun, informative experience & I look forward to your upcoming workshops.
Sincerely, Cathy
Dear Jack, I had the most marvelous day and I learned so much. I learned much at our first session but yesterday it seemed that I could get my fingers to do what my brain had come up with and why! I learn best when I can practice as I learn. The lessons by the gopher hole and especially with the tripods were mind blowing for me. Somewhere in there the light bulb went off and I can better understand the concept of planning the picture or trying to get what I want and why. The cogs are meshing slowly, but still meshing, and it is all thanks to you. As I said, you have a great way of making someone feel at ease – I am sure it started with your parents, took you through your time in NY but that “easability” is one of the things that make you so absolutely a pleasure to work with and learn from.
Thank you again. Linda

Jack was our wedding photographer, and I have got to say that he was absolutely wonderful! My husband and I wanted our wedding to be as fun and easy as possible, and Jack fell into step with us, all while providing us with much-needed guidance throughout the process. We spoke several times over the phone, and he took particular pains to be sure that he captured our personalities on our special day. He talked with us about different moments throughout the ceremony, especially focusing on trying to give US the best experience possible.
He was not just our photographer, but I feel that he was our guest. He was incredibly easy to work with, and the pictures we were given as a result were just incredible. He expertly captured not just moments from our wedding, but the feeling and that's incredible. There's just no other way to say it. Jack is professional, sensitive, has exquisite attention to detail, but most of all: he makes you feel like you're the most important person in the world. Who could ask for more in a perfect wedding photographer?! Thank you, Jack! I look forward to the next time I get to see you!

Dear Jack, thank you so much for doing such a great job at our wedding. We really appreciate your patience and good spirit from start to finish. We know it must have been so tiring but you made it look so easy. All our friends and family have nothing but good things to say about the pictures. Every time we look at our wedding album, it brings back tons of fond memories of our special day. Thanks again and we wish you all the best!
Lydia & Cary
Dear Jack, thank you so much for the great job you did! The pictures are great -- especially the ones taken from the roof, on the ladder, on the wall in the park, etc. -- all the ones we never would have taken if you hadn't scoped out the sights beforehand. It really made the difference -- most "wedding photographers" wouldn't have gone to the trouble and would have simply taken the boilerplate shots -- we really appreciatethe extra effort. If you ever need a reference or a recommendation we're here for you!
Kevin & Ellen, NYC
Hi Jack, we did get the package, and ripped it open immediately to look at the book. WE LOVE IT! I shared it with my Mom who, after crying happy tears, said she would like to chat with you about making another album similar to this one. And we all cracked up when we saw you chose to include in the album the photo of my sister trying to figure out my bustle...Without context, that photo can be pretty darn funny! We can't thank you enough for capturing such thoughtful, poignent images from our wedding.
Jenn & Larry
Dear Jack, thanks for doing such a wonderful job on the photographs! Tom and I absolutely love them-we've gone through them a hundred times and still can't get over them. I feel like the memory of my wedding is perfectly preserved with these. I don't know how we can thank you enough for being such a talented guy! All the best!"
Love, Maria & Tom Lauricella
We love the photos. You definitely captured the spirit of the evening. I kept them in my car all afternoon on Wed. Every time I had a break or stopped at a red light I pulled out the albums. Thanks for sorting through them all and putting them into such a great format for reviewing. I also wanted to thank you for your calm and friendly manner during our celebration. There were so many little details to address that night, your style was a perfect blend. So many people commented on how wonderful you were...
Ellen & Paul

The photos are tremendous… in fact there are so many that we are looking at them like a deer in the headlights and we not quite know what to do next. Slowly but surely we are identifying favorites and things we want blown up, copied, so on and so forth. I do not doubt it may take us a while to come to final decisions on our pictures. We are in your debt.
Bernie & Debbie
The pictures you took for us at our wedding were beautiful and well done. We have now looked at them several times over and have shared them with friends and family who all agree that you did a great job. My bridesmaid, Sue, wants to apologize for following you around like a puppy bugging you to make her your assistant; my father appreciates how you gave my nephew, Alex, lessons on photography; my husband, Peter, thanks you for the dollar you contributed to the cause of ending the foot beating; and my sister, Cathy, LOVES the picture of the kids you took outside the cottage...
Lilly & Pete
Hi Jack, the photos look absolutely great. It took us several hours to go through them. I can't believe we have so many pictures! But we survived and even have an album to take home with us tomorrow. Thanks again fro a superb job. We especially love the photos from early that morning and also the outdoor shots. They are amazing. Okay, I will stop. The black & whites are awesome. See, I can't stop.
Mona & Steve

Jack, I just spent the last hour forwarding this (photograph) to everyone who couldn't attend the wedding but can't remember if I replied to you to tell you what a wonderful and joy-filled photo that is and that it perfectly defines why we wanted you to photograph our wedding!!
Thanks, Emily Vassos

Jack, I got your packages (of photographs). Looking through the album already, I gotta say, I love it. Simply love it. Can’t wait to go through all the others. Holy cow, there are a lot of pics! Thanks for everything. Jack, I can’t comment enough on how great it was to have you as our photographer. It was a personal wedding through and through so it was important for us to surround ourselves with people we trusted. These pictures bring back lots of fond memories of that day, and now we have those moments captured forever. Obviously I’ll be your marketing voice down here in the event someone needs a photographer and I’ll be happy to share with anyone our experience of working with you.
Phillip & Monica
Jack captured the essence of our wedding through a delicate sense of people and his deep connection to place. He was able to photograph the soul of our day in the most real, subtle, and intimate way. When we look at the masterpieces he created, my husband and I are sent right back to the moments of the most profound day of our lives. Jack's disarming nature put everyone on the other side of the lens at ease. This very dynamic yielded carefully crafted excellence that we can pass down for many generations to come. I recommend Jack with great passion.
Love, Ahri and Jay
I was looking at the photos the other day and thinking how lucky we were to have you as our photographer, a true professional, and you captured the beauty of the trees and setting. Thank you!! [A couple looks back at their wedding photos 10 years later! - JG] - Kerry & Andrew
Jack was a wonderful wedding photographer and very easy to work with. We loved his natural style and approach to taking photos (to just blend in with everyone else and not make you pose for hours). He has a great eye for unusual and unique shots and a special talent for bringing people to life in photos.
Helen & David
If you are thinking about hiring Jack to shoot your wedding, don't - Just hire him! You won't regret it. Jack photographed our wedding down in Monterey and his work exceeded our wildest expectations. We can go on for pages about why we think he is the ideal wedding photographer, but to keep within space limits, we'll focus on just three:
1. Jack has an incredible eye. If you hire Jack, you will not get just an endless combination of people staring at the camera. You will end up with hundreds of shots capturing every last beautiful detail of your perfect day. Many of which you will never have expected. The ring waiting in a slice of afternoon sunlight. The seabirds that suddenly take to the air behind you as you make your vows. The two of you laughing over a glass of champagne. Cut him loose. Trust his judgment. You'll be amazed.
2. Jack will do whatever it takes to get the shot. From the first moment you talk to him, you notice immediately how much Jack loves what he does. That translates to him doing some pretty crazy things to get your pictures just "right": i.e., arriving hours beforehand to scout out ideal locations, lying square in the middle of the dance floor so he can capture the revealers partying away, balancing on a balcony 100 feet above the Pacific Ocean so the angle is just right for every bridesmaid...
3. Jack is someone you can count on. On the day of your wedding, hundreds of things can go awry. If something does, don't be surprised if Jack steps up to the plate first to help you out. We know this from personal experience. Having his steadying influence there at the right moment is worth more than anything else he'll do for you that day.
Picking a photographer is a huge decision, and one that is very hard to be comfortable with until after the prints finally come in. We hope that our brief comments can help you with that decision. However, if you would like to know more details about our experiences with Jack, please feel free to drop us a line at sunny@kimandsunny.com. Best wishes, and congratulations."
